JLab Earbuds - Quality Products with Fast Customer Support!

These days it seems like customer support is going away faster than landlines and paper mail. But I can at least state that JLab Audio appears to ship quality products, honors their "lifetime warranty" and responds very quickly to warranty claim requests. I received my original J4 earbuds in October 2013 and they have lasted about 2 years of almost daily use, with three different players/phones I have used to listened to music on my Metrolink rides to and from work. But finally one earbud went out (one of the wire connections I believe actually broke) so I thought I would test out their lifetime warranty. On Friday October 9, I submitted my claim and they said they would need a order confirmation. So I needed my daughter to e-mail me her Amazon order which included the $30 J4 order from 2013. After I submitted that (Oct 11), they responded I then needed to send them the old earbuds and they would give me store credit for the purchase price once they received them and could see they were defective.

I was not sure if I was willing to gamble the $5 on postage, knowing that they might not give me the $30 store credit, but I thought I would give them a shot to see how generous they were on warranty claims. I shipped it out last Tuesday (Oct 13) using USPS Priority mail, so I could track it until it showed up there at the JLab offices last Thursday (Oct 15). I was hoping they might respond the next day, but they actually responded on the day of receipt, giving me a full $29.99 store credit I could spend on their online store. The J4 earbuds no longer exist, but they have the similar Bass Earbuds which look and sound very similar, with the same lifetime warranty and selling for exactly $29.99. So I was able to use that store credit and order a brand new set for free. While I waited I actually used a spare JLab J2 earbuds I had as backup, but they do not seem as solidly built as the J4's were made.

I finally received my new earbuds in the mail yesterday (Oct 21) and they look like they are quite similar to my old J4 set. They are solidly built with a good weight to them and the sound quality is great with strong bass and a wide frequency response. If I was not so deaf I could probably be a better judge of their sound quality, but I have been listening to loud music for too many years!

I did notice that the box listed that it had a 1 year warranty although on its web page it does still say a "limited lifetime warranty". Which do I believe? If this set lasts another two years, maybe I should just shell out the $30 and actually buy another set from them. All in all I have been quite pleased by the build and sound quality of the JLab earbuds and I also appreciate their customer support. It is getting harder to find companies that make quality products with good customer support, so we should patronize those who keep up the good work.
